"Doris"

Shire Horse ages 15, has been at Putlake for 4 years in which time she has had 2 foals.
Misty (filly) born 2008
Sky (filly) born 2009

   

"Cookie"

Donkey ages 2, spends all of his time with his best friend holly.
When separated you need ear plugs for the noise.

   

Alpacas

We currently have 7 Alpacas at Putlake.
They originate from South America.
Alpacas are sheared in the Summer and will grow a new Coat.
The wool is one of the warmest wool you can get.

   

"Rosie"

Breed = Gloucester Old Spot.
Rosie is a sow (female).
Rosie has produced a number of litters, of between 10 to 12 at a time.

   
All of the Lambs and goats that we have at Putlake for bottle feeding are orphans. Once they are big enough they are used for breeding.
The goats will also produce milk and cheese.
   
We have lots of different breeds of Chickens and Ducks.

This is a just a few of the animals that are on show for you to see and get up close to.

Everyone should make sure that they wash their hands after touching any of the animals. (lots of soap and water is provided)

Outside on the Farm

As well as lots of animals that are about to see we have:

Sand area with buckets and spaces and sand cranes.

The children will spend ages playing there

Bottle feeding the lambs and goats

follow the daily timetable for times of feeding

(between March and October)

   

Tractor trailer rides are throughout the day.

See the horses start to fall asleep while the children are grooming away.  
   
  Pedal tractors to wear those little legs.
